Mission Statement

The purpose of the BCYC website is:
1) to facilitate communication within the club
2) to promote the club to outside interest
3) to simplify sail school, youth sailing, and membership registration.

Inclusion

We will utilize an open door policy to club members and committees to provide materials for the site, materials should be in a format that can easily be placed on the website in either text, TXT, DOC, PDF, JPG WAV, WAM or GIF formats.

Contents

The entire Windword, history of the club, club committee, sail school, calendar of events, contact information, and links to popular yachting sites, to weather, tide charts, local yacht clubs, city of Gulfport, and other major sailing sites as special events occur are included on the website.

Members privacy must be protected, members may choose to or not to be listed. Email addresses phone numbers or mailing addresses will not be included without specific authorization unless the information is in an existing Windward PDF format. Officers and chairpersons are responsible to confirm their information or to have infromation removed. For removal contact the webmaster.

Artwork and Pictures

Artwork and pictures must be in a friendly web format, and appropriate material. Material that is questionable will not be displayed unless approved by the board. Nudity will not be accepted.

Look/Feel/Design

Each committee is responsible for the content, design and look of their page. The initial content is an example, committees can modify. Common areas, heading and menu are sections restricted to the website disign and modified as recommended or approved by the board.

Email "SailBcyc.org" Accounts

Emails accounts have been setup for Flag Officers, Chairpersons, and Sailing School to be forwarded to members primary eMail address. Each committee chair and flag Officers are responsible to respond to mail sent to them through the sailbcyc.org account and maintain their forwarding addess and account password. Address examples are sailschool@sailbcyc.org, membership@sailbcyc.org, and commodore@sailbcyc.org. Email accounts are available to any club member.

Utilization/Privacy

Passwords for the website will be held in private by the Webmaster and Commodore.
