join us for a fun day of some racing, enjoyable sailing, and lots of fishing on the beautiful gulf of mexico!

BCYC Bait & Tackle Regatta Overview

  • PHRF racing, Spinnaker and Non-Spinnaker – (a phrf rating will be assigned by the race committee to boats that do not have one)
  • racing will begin and end near pass-a-grille mo (a).  Competitors will race around government marks up to john’s pass while trawling for seasonal fish.

 

  • Competitors will keep track of fish they catch on a tally sheet.  finish times will be adjusted accordingly for competitors who catch fish.  if you catch nothing all day, the race committee will add time to your finish!
  • race around marks in a specific order, but if you want to try and sail further off-shore in search of fish, you must cross the finish line no later than 2:00pm, or be scored DNF.

 

  • prizes for first, second, third, and last place.  a prize for the biggest fish caught overall.
  • Schedule of events:

Friday, November 13th
1830 -1900 hrs                       check-in
1900 hrs                                 competitors’ meeting
Saturday, November 14th
0730 hrs                                 donuts and coffee
1000 hrs                                 first warning
1530 - 1700 hrs                       weigh-in/measure/tally sheets (show off that catch!)
1900 hrs                                 dinner to include assortment of fresh catch of the day,
                                                all the sides, dessert, and beverages

  • no entry fee.  registration includes donuts and coffee, dinner and beverages, and (1) t-shirt for skipper.
